Peter Morrell had his Surf Life Saving Bronze Star returned to him after losing it over 20 years ago.

Last week Elissa and David Brown posted on Everything Geraldton’s Facebook page trying to find the owner of the medallion they found on a Geraldton beach over 20 years ago.

And within days it was returned to its owner.

Peter received the medal when he was 14 and would wear it around his neck. He said that he probably took it off one day and put it in his towel at the beach when it was lost.

Peter Morrell said he couldn’t believe it was returned to him after all these years.

“It really is remarkable that after all those years it has been found,” he said.

“Technology and Facebook are a wonderful thing.”
