Midwest fishing report by Tackleworld Country
/OFF SHORE With rough conditions over the weekend the best option was inshore from African Reef through to Greenough in 10-20m of water with Coral Trout to 700mm and Dhu fish to 8kg, Samson fish and Amberjacks are also on the bite in these areas.
NEW MARINA & FISHERMEN'S HARBOUR
The New Marina is fishing well for Yellow fin Whiting, Herring and Flathead and a few good sized Flounder.
If you are looking for Bream the fisherman's harbour is the place to be.
BEACHES
Big Green back Tailor are getting caught along the coast with most of the reef breaks holding good size fish with strada howlers doing the damage for lure anglers and for those using bait mulies and mullet, coronations Drummond and Greenough all producing fish.
RIVERS
The Greenough river is fishing better than ever before; with good size Bream up river and Mangrove getting caught by kayakers. The river mouth is still producing good sized Yellow fin Whiting.
