17-year-old charged for stealing motorbike

On Wednesday, June 4 a 17-year-old male from Rangeway stole a new off-road motor bike from a premise in Wandina.

The offender, unable to start the bike, stashed it in bush land in Rangeway.

At about 2.30am on Sunday, June 8 the offender returned to hotwire the bike to joyride through Rangeway. Police observed the offender ride the bike without lights into vacant land at the corner of Keating and Kenny Crescent.

Police followed the accused, who then abandoned the bike in bushes and attempted to evade police on foot. He was located shortly after and apprehended.

The male offender was charged with Stealing a Motor Vehicle. He will appear in Geraldton Children’s Court this month.
