Robbery at service station

photo-14 Two males robbed Gull Tarcoola Service Station in the early hours of Sunday morning after driving a stolen vehicle through the open shop front doors.

The pair were in a stolen white Volkswagen panel van and drove through the opened doors of the service station shopfront at approximately 1:25am.

Two males left the vehicle and approached the store person who was stocking shelves. The offenders attempted to force the employee to open the safe, however were unsuccessful.

During the robbery the offenders assaulted the employee before stealing the cash drawers and other property from the premises, which were loaded into the stolen vehicle, before fleeing the scene.

Police attended the location and conducted inquiries. A search was commenced and offenders were located fleeing from police in Bluff Point.

One male was arrested and conveyed to Geraldton Police Station.

The 19 year old male offender from Mullewa was charged with: 1 x Aggravated Robbery 3 x Steal Motor Vehicle 1 x Criminal Damage

He appeared at Geraldton Magistrates Court on 19 May 2014 and remanded in custody to reappear on 22 May 2014.
