Overtaking manoeuvre gone wrong

Police at the scene of a car accident this morning said it was caused by an "overtaking manoeuvre gone wrong".

The accident occurred around 11am this morning on Northwest Coastal Highway just north of the Coronation Beach turnoff.

Police said the car was travelling south when it went to overtake as another car did coming the other way, causing the car to swerve off the road.

The driver and passengers of the car were not seriously injured.
