Chance to get projects up and running with community sport and recreation small grants
/Geraldton MLA Ian Blayney today urged grassroots clubs and councils needing financial assistance for special projects to make use of the latest round of small grants as part of the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF). Mr Blayney said applications are now being invited for CSRFF grants which are designed specifically for cases where financial assistance is needed to complete a project which might otherwise be out of their reach.
He said such grants can really help revitalise clubs or complexes, like a set of tennis courts, making the facility something which the whole community can enjoy.
In this round, there is $750,000 available which can be put towards a variety of community-minded projects, especially those that help people to be active and enjoy sport and recreation.
The grants are for a total project cost of up to $150,000. Works undertaken can include floodlighting, safety fencing, change room facilities, storage and skate park upgrades.
Not-for-profit sport, recreation or community groups and local government authorities from all over Western Australia seeking capital works grants to develop sport and recreation facilities are eligible.
The State Government makes $20million available each year through the CSRFF program. Now open the 2014-15 CSRFF February Small Grants closes at 4pm on March 31.
