KARL MONAGHAN PHOTOGRAPHY LAUNCHES EXCITING NEW PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION
/Holidays, great weather (apart from the pesky Geraldton southerly!),travel, ocean, sun burn, new uniforms, first day at school, adventures, BBQ’s, friends, family, fun, new beginnings, relaxation, cricket, freedom, lunches, coffee dates, planning for the new year, camp fires, fireworks, Australia Day, sighs of relief, no traffic in the mornings! These are just a few words and phrases that can be associatedwith the “Back to School” time of year. Karl Monaghan Photography has decided to embrace this wonderful time of year with a photography competition, and encourages the community to get out there and use their imaginations. No fancy cameras are needed, just a device that takes photographs and a bit of thought and creativity. What does “Back to School” mean to you?
Karl Monaghan Photography is owned and operated by Karl Monaghan, who first opened his West End Marine Terracegallery six years ago. As a full accredited member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography, Karl was awarded his honours as an Associate of the Institute during the 2013 Australian Professional Photography Awards held inMelbourne, he is now working towards his Master of Photography Honours.
In 2013 he received three silver and one bronze at the AIPP Professional Photographer of the Year Awards. Karl’s professional gallery is over 300sqm and includes not only a fine art gallery, but also a museum grade, archival quality, on-site printing and framing workshop. It’s a one stop shop for the Midwest’s photographic needs.
New staff member Taryn Page and Karl Monaghan hope that by running the photography competition the Geraldton and surrounding communities will embrace what this time of year means to them. It’s an open competition and they encourage everyone to take a snap of what their interpretation of “Back to School” means to them. To inspire people to get involved, Karl will be printing and custom framing the winning photograph to A3 size, valued at $500.00, and also randomly selecting an entry for a free portrait session in the on-site studio, with a 5x7 custom framed print of their choice.
Taryn and Karl are looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with. The public can also increase their chance in the draw by joining the Karl Monaghan Photography emailing list and “Liking” the Karl Monaghan Photography Facebook page.
Entries close on the 28th of January 2014. For more information, have a look at the Karl Monaghan Photography Facebook page. Happy snapping!
