Wonthella man charged with Firearms Offences after firing weapon
/Everything Geraldton received several enquiries regarding an incident in Wonthella earlier today.
Police had closed sections of Sixth Street, and rumours were circulating regarding shots being fired.
We contacted Geraldton Police, who have issued the following statement:
As a result of inquiries, on Monday 20 June 2016 Geraldton Detectives and Geraldton Police executed Search Warrant at a house in Wonthella.
Police allege a 43 year old from Wonthella discharged a firearm that was in his possession earlier that day.
The male has been charged with:
Acts or omissions that are likely to, or do, endanger life, health or safety
Possess unlicensed Firearm / Ammunition
Possess firearm where identification mark differs on licence
He will appear at Geraldton Magistrates Court at a later date.
