Technology, sustainability and innovation the focus of Geraldton festival

Next week Geraldton will see more than 60 professionals sharing their insights and experience with the wider community.

The Goodness Festival goodness.org.au has more than a dozen events giving local people the opportunity to get hands-on in doing, talking about and discussing sustainability, science, technology and innovation.

Some of the Festival highlights include symposiums on the future of Nature, Philanthropy, Digital Education and children's engagement with Nature, as well as tours and exhibits relating to community gardens, local biodiversity and radio astronomy. There are also opportunities for local people to pitch their best and brightest ideas at the ‘Pitch Fest’ on 21st August.

Futurists, researchers, authors and experts in innovation, technology and education are traveling from around the state to create a buzzing hub of ideas, discussion and learning. This year’s festival follows distinct themes for 2015 including Digital Creativity, Light Science, Good Fun and Social Innovation.

There are many free and low cost events suitable for the whole family including the Geraldton AstroFest on Wednesday night http://goodness.org.au/event/geraldton-astrofest/  and coding workshops for kids http://goodness.org.au/event/coderdojo-taster-dojo-session/ at the Geraldton Universities Centre on Saturday the 22nd.

The best value way to participate is through a Festival Ticket http://goodness.org.au/event/goodness-festival/ which are $50 and offer discounted and in many cases free access to all events.

Goodness Festival is proudly supported by City of Greater Geraldton Community Grants Program and Inspiring Australia as part of National Science Week.
