Midwest Fishing report by Tackleworld Geraldton
/OFFSHORE
South west bank is still the place to be for nice size Dhu fish and Baldies with fish to 10kg on the bite, African reef is also producing good Dhuie’sin water 15-20m, closer to town Pinkies, Sambos and Cod can be found in the N/W of town in the shipping anchorage. If you are after Coral Trout the grounds west of Coronation’s is producing good numbers of fish up to 60cm with Spanish Mackerel in this area as well.
There has been reports of big bait balls around the 5 mile mark with yellow fin tuna harassing them.
ROCK WALLS
The rock walls around town are producing big Cod, Pinkies and Dark Tail Snapper after dark.
With a few Squid as well.
Skippy and Herring have been busting up bait fish around the wash of the walls as well
RIVERS
Chapman River is the place to be if you’re after big Bream with fish from 30-40 cm on the bite.
BEACHES
South gates has had good captures of Mulloway up to 15kg, with the new moon on its way I would think there
should be some good catches with the break wall and Drummonds being worth a try.
Yellow Fin, Whiting have been taking in most sand patches along the coast with fish to 30 cm
