Free shuttle bus service for Cold Chisel concert goers

The countdown is on! Rock legends Cold Chisel will be in Geraldton tomorrow!

There will be a free shuttle bus service for concert goers which will be leaving from Foreshore Drive (opposite Lot 601) in the CBD with buses leaving every 15 minutes from 5pm to 8pm.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor, Shane Van Styn, said local police, event promotors and the City worked together to provide the free shuttle bus service for safety and traffic reasons.

“Having free parking in the CBD and providing a free shuttle bus service reduces traffic congestion at the concert site and it reduces the risk of road accidents,” he said.

“It is also a reminder for those attending the concert to be safe and not to drink and drive.”

Return buses will be leaving Eadon Clarke Oval (GBSC Sports Park) from 10pm – midnight.

This means there will be free parking in Lot 601 as well as at the Batavia Coast Marina Carpark for those wanting to use the shuttle bus service.

Security as well as security lighting will be in place in both free car parking areas from 5pm – 1am.

Parking is also available onsite at Eadon Clarke Oval (GBSC Sports Park) but people are reminded that no parking is permitted on surrounding street verges or local resident’s properties. Rangers will be issuing infringements to vehicles parking illegally around the perimeter.

There will be free water at the event but people are reminded to bring their own water bottles.

A number of local food vendors will also be at the concert including Skeetas, The Provincial, Burnt Barrel, Culinary HQ, Geraldton Greenough Farmers Markets, Lions Club, The Yard Bar and Geraldton Coffee Bar.

There will be everything from steak and pulled pork sandwiches, hamburgers, chips, paella, a sausage sizzle as well as drinks such as coffee, iced fruit drinks and frappes.
There will also be a bar selling alcoholic beverages.

There is no seating available however picnic rugs or low back chairs are allowed but high back chairs must be positioned towards the rear of the venue.

Gates open for the concert at 5pm and tickets are still available from www.ticketek.com.au
