/OFFSHORE
Well it’s been an Interesting start to the season with mixed reports coming in and the wind playing a major part in keep boats out of the water, but fortunately the weather improved an every man and his dog got out early New Year. 20mile south west has fished well with big dhu fish snapper and bald chin as well coral trout, there has also been Red emperor caught in this location.
Closer to town is fishing well dhuies to 10kg and baldies to 5kgs are getting caught 5miles from town there are a few cobia around as well
FISHERMANS WHARF
Fisherman’s wharf is fishing well with big Black bream to 40cm and cod to 70cm with unstoppable fish around the pylon’s, Mangrove Jacks are on the bite proving hard to pull out from a tight structure, a few fish have been caught at night on soft plastics, Tailor Snook are busting up schools of bait fish around the lights and pink snapper to 40cm after dark
BEACHES
Tailor are on the run at the moment with plenty of fish getting caught most mornings and nights with south gates and Tarcoola beach fishing the best with big herring and dart among them.
Sunset is also worth a try with nice whiting to 30cm and tailor to 50-60 cm
Drummond cove right through to coronation are fishing well with pink snapper and big tailor from the reef with a few 15kg mulloway
Greenough point is holding big dart herring and tailor
RIVERS
Greenough and Chapman rivers are fishing extremely well with big bream and mangrove Jacks on the move
