It takes a dedicated committee to pull off an amazing event and the 2014 Mullewa Muster and Rodeo team have been recognised for their hard work after being named the Australian Bushmen's Campdraft and Rodeo Association WA Committee of the Year.

Four committee members attended the Australian Bushmen's Campdraft and Rodeo Association (ABCRA) WA Zone Awards and Dinner on Saturday night in the Swan Valley where they were presented the inaugural award.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor, Ian Carpenter, praised the committee on the hard-earned award.

“The Mullewa Muster and Rodeo has come a long way in three years and this progression and outcome of the amazing event is led by the very dedicated committee,” he said.

“The event has attracted people from all over the state and the success of the event is showing no signs of slowing down.

“The City would like to congratulate the 2014 Mullewa Muster and Rodeo committee on their efforts and this well-deserved award.”

The annual Mullewa Muster and Rodeo has attracted thousands of people since its inception in 2012.

Next year’s event will be held on Saturday, May 30 and the Committee says it is set to be bigger and better.

Next year’s Country Music Concert will feature Adam Harvey, The Sunny Cowgirls and Chelsea Basham. Visitors will also enjoy the excitement of a full-point rodeo and a Beaut Ute competition, along with lots of stalls and fun activities for the whole family.

The event is a big drawcard for contestants as it is WA’s highest paying prize money rodeo.
