/Epilepsy Action Australia is coming to Geraldton from 30th July until 3rd August 2014! Our visit will include:
•Information Session for people with epilepsy and their families, Thursday 31st July
•Epilepsy Workshop for those who work with people with epilepsy, Friday 1st August
•Action Adventure Family Fun Day on Saturday 2nd August
•A community event to raise epilepsy awareness on Sunday 3rd August
NB: Individual appointments with Epilepsy Nurse Educators available throughout the visit
Epilepsy is the most common serious brain disorder in Australia, affecting up to an estimated 800,000 Australians during their lifetime. Currently at least 20,000 children and adults in Western Australia are living with epilepsy. This unpredictable and often debilitating condition can severely disable people in terms of their capacity to live meaningful, independent lives. These events will aim to improve understanding & awareness, increase knowledge and skills of people supporting those with epilepsy and enhance people’s capacity to self manage their epilepsy.
