fire devenish A woman's body was found badly burned after a fire that occurred in a duplex on Devenish St, Utakarra.

The fire occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The arson squad has travelled to Geraldton to investigate according to reports from the ABC. Anyone with information on the fire is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

WA police spokeswoman Susan Usher said police and arson officers are trying to determine both the identity of the victim and how the home went up in flames, according to WA Today.

Another house fire also occurred Wednesday morning in Spalding. Police have not reported any fatalities from that fire.
