BEACHES

GREENOUGH FIRST AND SECOND POINTS -

Tailor to 60cm being caught on baits and lures.

Lure anglers have also been using Halco 105 rooster poppers with great results.

TARCOOLA BEACH

Tailor, Whiting and dart have been reported by anglers using squid and prawn for bait.

DRUMMONDS COVE CAR PARKS -

Tailor and mulloway from the northern car parks thru to Bulla river, early mornings and evenings have been pick of the times.

RIVERS

GREENOUGH RIVER -

Bream to 30cm have been caught on prawn baits toward the mouth.

Mangrove Jack have again been reported by anglers fishing big baits around the rock bars.

Devlin's pool has seen Bream to 35cm and lots of annoying Grunter.

CHAPMAN RIVER -

Local angler Brent has been putting in the hours chasing solid Bream on soft plastics and was rewarded with some nice Bream between 25 - 32cm recently.

Brent said the plastics he found best for the bigger Bream are the 80mm Squidgy Wrigglers and Zman 2 .5 inch grubs.

ROCKWALLS

LOCAL ROCK WALLS -

More reports of Tailor to 35cm from the fishermans wharf walls.

Disabled  platform has produced School Mackerel to 70cm and Tailor to 35cm. There have also been a few small school sharks landed in this area over the past week.

The small very aggressive chopper tailor are  again plentiful on the inside of the marina walls, look for the lights to find the fish. These little Tailor are great fun for the kids to catch and an even better way for kids to learn how to use lures.

More reports this past week of people catching good sized Cod from inside the harbour walls, we have been shown lots of  photos of Cod to 60cm this week. Soft plastics, big baits and patience are the key to unlocking the marina Cod.

SEAL ROCK -

Herring, Chopper Tailor and Skippy are still about on high tide, prawn and white bait have been the best baits to use.

LEADS

MAIN CHANNEL -

Still reports of big  schools of slimey and school mackerel hanging close to the markers.

Spanish Mackerel to  around15kg have turned up in numbers this last week with multiple reports of fish being caught by fisherman trolling Rapala 6m XRaps and Yo Zuri  crystal minnows. There is also school Mackerel showing up in the channel, try using smaller lures if you want to target the them.

5 MILE MARKER -

Lots of slimy mackerel schooling up close to the boy, and small mixed Tuna and Bonito have been caught fishing in close amongst the bait schools. Also reports of the odd Dhu and Baldy showing up close to the main boy.

OFFSHORE

PENSIONERS BANK -

Small Dhu fish and Baldchin Grouper have been reported with most reports being of undersize or just legal fish, also small Sampson Fish are being caught from the deeper sections.

Spanish Mackerel are in thick schools patrolling the back edge of the bank, by trolling for longer periods of time and mixing up what depths your lures run at will soon find you the Mackerel.

AFRICAN REEF -

Lots of reports of Dhu fish around 4 - 8kg being caught close to shore in the broken weedy 10 - 15m ground.

Metal jigs to 100gm and soft plastics in 5 and 6 inch have been the lures of choice for around African Reef.

Coral Trout to 55cm coming from the bigger edges in 15m and Pink Snapper wide of African in 35m plus on the coral.

ISLANDS -

Hummock Island is producing Dhu Fish, Trout  and Pink Snapper.

Wreck Point has held good numbers of Yellow Fin Tuna and Spanish Mackerel to 15kg
