Chamber won't support the rate rise

Speaking to the members of the Midwest Chamber of Commerce and industry at the business after hours gathering tonight, CEO Rob Jefferies declared that the chamber is not happy with the proposed 7.2% rate increase by the City of Greater Geraldton.

Declaring the 7.2% unsustainable, Mr Jefferies suggested the balance between providing services to the community and the amount the city charged in rates was out of whack.

He said his desire was for the MWCCI to communicate that to council in a professional manner.
