Centacares’ Community Volunteer Service is a free volunteer resource and development centre. We assist the community by facilitating community connections, promote and advocate local volunteering , promote and advocate for interests of volunteers, provide information on volunteering opportunities, work with not-for-profit organisations to develop volunteer opportunities, work with not-for-profit organisations to develop and maintain standards and promote management of volunteers as a profession.
Our service is open to all members of the community who are interested in engaging and participating in their community by volunteering.
We provide one-on-one consultations with prospective volunteers, referrals to registered not-for-profit organisations, relevant and up-to-date information to the community regarding the volunteer sector, a quarterly e-newsletter, a monthly list of available volunteer opportunities, a website with an interactive search engine to help people find suitable volunteer roles, training & support to volunteers, training & support to registered not-for-profit organisations, a very large resource library to assist organisations with their Volunteer Management programs and anything else required by the community regarding volunteering.
